2nd Unplanned Fire Drill

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Shortly after students returned to class, a second fire alarm activation occurred due to another malfunction in the system.  As a result, students and staff conducted a second fire drill and remained outside for a brief period of time until the building was rendered safe by Hanover Fire-EMS.  Students and staff have once again reentered the building, and we are continuing with the instructional day.

While this is an unfortunate disruption, we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.  Thank you for your continued support of our efforts in providing a safe environment for our outstanding students and staff.

Kind regards,

Unplanned Fire Drill

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Earlier this morning, students and staff participated in an unplanned fire drill due to a malfunction in the alarm system.  Students and staff safely evacuated the building and remained outside for approximately 25 minutes until the building was rendered safe by Hanover Fire-EMS.  Students and staff have reentered the building, and we are continuing with the instructional day.

I hope this information is helpful and addresses any concerns you may have.  Thank you for your continued support of our efforts in providing a safe environment for our outstanding students and staff.

Kind regards,

  • The Official Robot Constructors of America, or ORCA, is the PH robotics team.
  • This year they competed in two district events in Portsmouth and Deep Run.
  • In Portsmouth, their robot, named Sea Panda, made it to quarterfinals and the team’s excitement won them the spirit award.
  • At Deep Run they once again made it to the quarterfinals with an alliance with Hanover and Lee Davis teams. We lost in two close matches that were only points apart from the winning team.
  • Overall they ranked 84th in the Chesapeake region, but their real achievement was growing closer as a team and the ORCA brand!
