We had a wonderful spring awards ceremony last Thursday.  Congratulations to the many students who were recognized!  Thank you to Assistant Principal Mrs. Derricott and our counselors for organizing the event.

This week, we will continue with remediation for SOL expedited retakes.  We also will test students who were absent during the regular testing window.  The schedule is below:

6/2-6/10: Expedited Retakes

To Help You Plan:

Fee Nights, 2016-17

August 23, 2-6 p.m.–Juniors, plus any seniors, may pick up schedules and pay fees.

August 24, 2-6 p.m.–Sophomores and juniors, plus any seniors, may pick up schedules and pay fees.

August 30-4-7 p.m.–Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, plus any seniors, may pick up schedules and pay fees.  We will hold a freshman program at 7 p.m. in the new gym.

Back to School Night, 2016-17–September 1, 6 to 8 p.m.

This summer, PH Field Hockey will host a clinic to introduce new players to our game and team.  Elementary, middle and high school students will learn the fundamental skills and rules of the game from PH Coach Abbie Rossman.  In addition, current and former PH players will be on hand to meet new players and assist with coaching.


When: June 25 2016; 9:00 – 12:00 pm

Registration: 8:00 – 8:45 am

Where: PH Field Hockey Field (closer to Poor Farm Park)

Cost: $35 per player

Checks payable to PH Field Hockey.  Bring with you to registration.

What to bring:

Stick (we will have a limited number to borrow)

Shin guards

Mouth guard

Athletic shoes (or cleats)

Water bottle

Summer school information has been posted at http://hanover.k12.va.us/instruction/summer_school/.  The location for high school summer school this year is Lee-Davis.  The school division will provide transportation to and from Patrick Henry High School.


From Mrs. Nuckols: Open gym for girls basketball will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-7:00 p.m.
