REMINDERS

From our Counseling Center:  We have started the course registration process for 2016-17.  On Tuesday, November 24, students received the attached registration process letter that outlines the following process:

  • Students were given a copy of the HCPS Program of Studies on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.
  • On Monday, December 14, 2015, each student will receive a Course Registration Form during first block. Instructions on how to complete the form will be given at that time.
  • Each student must show the form to his or her teachers on Monday, December 14, and Tuesday, December 15, to ensure course selections are appropriate and to provide recommendations. Each teacher will initial the form at the beginning of each block.
  • The student’s last block teacher on Monday, December 14, will collect the form to keep for the next day.
  • On Tuesday morning at 8:25 a.m., students will report to their A4 teachers to gather their forms and continue the registration process with their B-day teachers.
  • The student’s last block teacher on Tuesday, December 15, will collect the form, which will be copied and returned to each student on Thursday, December 17, 2015.
  • Parents should review the requested courses and make adjustments, if necessary.
  • To request courses not recommended by a teacher, select that option at the bottom of the registration form, and return it to the Counseling Center on Monday, January 4, 2016.
  • Students who wish to enroll in a course at The Hanover Center for Trades and Technology, one of the specialty electives/programs at Hanover High School, or the new ACA Program must complete the appropriate application on the Patrick Henry High School website by February 1, 2016.
