Congratulations to junior Grant Davis who finished ninth in the 5A North Region cross- country meet last Thursday, November 5. He will advance to the 5A State meet on Friday, November 13. Great job, Grant!
Our PTSA will meet in the library at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10. At 5:30 p.m., we will vote on by-laws. All stakeholders are welcome to our monthly meetings that include school updates from the principal, the Students Council Association, and the Counseling Center. We also will discuss upcoming fundraisers to support PH. Please make plans to join us. Your input is important.
Wednesday, November 11, is an early release day for students. They will be dismissed at 1:15 p.m., and teachers will engage in professional development.
Report cards will be distributed during first block on Friday, November 13.

From the Hanover County Parent Resource Center: On Thursday, December 3, 2015, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Liberty Middle School, the Parent Resource Center will present IEP Tool Kit, a session about all things IEP. Everyone is welcome. A flyer is attached.
EDUCATION EXPO: Join us for Education Expo at PH! Students and their parents will learn more about some of the most exciting and innovative educational programs and pathways available at the high school level, such as:
· The Specialty Center with a health sciences focus (new for 2016)
· The Advance College Academy (new for 2016)
· The Hanover Center for Trades and Technology
· The International Baccalaureate program

Who: While all are welcome, this will be especially helpful for current 8th and 9th grade students and their parents as they begin planning their educational futures. Students will have the opportunity to apply for some of these programs starting this year.

Fall Play: Curtain Going Up! will be performed on November 11 and 12 at 6:00 p.m. and November 13 and 14 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold in advance for $5 during all lunches during show week; tickets will cost $7 at the door.
Veterans Day Breakfast: We will hold a breakfast on November 11 (early release day) from 8 to 9 a.m. in the new gym to honor our veterans. Students and their veteran family members, plus staff who are veterans, are invited. It is not too late to RSVP. Call 365-8000 or send an email to LPomfrey@hcps.us or FDeBorous@hcps.us. The RSVP should include the name of the student and the name(s) of the veteran family member(s) planning to attend. We look forward to honoring the veterans in our PH family. Make-Up Date for Student Pictures: On Thursday, November 12, 9-11 a.m., students unhappy with their first pictures or who were absent can have make-up pictures taken. If you have questions, contact Mrs. Moore, Yearbook Teacher, at MKMoore@hcps.us.
Clean Up Patrick Henry High School and Liberty Middle School: On Saturday, November 14, starting at 9 a.m., we will have a clean-up day at Patrick Henry High School and Liberty Middle School. If you are interested in going directly to work from high school, come learn about amazing opportunities at Dominion. A director from Dominion will be in the Career Center on Wednesday, November 18, during study block to discuss groundsmen positions.
