Greetings from Patrick Henry High School
Excellence, Tradition, and Patriot Pride
We have heard from a few parents that the RSVP Google link that was shown on the Patriot Camp announcement is not working. Rather than using the link, feel free to email a counselor to let us know that your child will be attending. We are hoping for huge participation from our freshman class:
Josh Hurley (JHurley@hcps.us)-Students with last names beginning with A-G
Margaret Roane (MRoane@hcps.us)-Students with last names beginning with H-O
Kathy Konrad (KKonrad@hcps.us)-Students with last names beginning with P-Z
All freshmen are invited to our first annual Patriot Camp on August 18, 2015, 9 a.m. to noon. Students must have their own transportation. Snacks, as well as school supply prizes, will be available. Freshmen will meet our counselors and administrators who will conduct fun and valuable informational sessions.
SUMMER READING REMINDER
All Patrick Henry High School students need to complete a summer reading assignment for their English classes. The assignment may be found at the following link, which is also on our home page:
Please read the entire document carefully to find your child’s class’s specific assignment.
FROM OUR SCHOOL COUNSELING CENTER
College Admissions Workshop
Immediately following Back-to-School Night on September 3, our Counseling Center will present an informational session at 7:30 p.m. on college admissions. All parents and students are welcome.
Patrick Henry High School will be using Parchment to Make Applying to College Easier and More Accessible. Electronic transcripts deliver cost and time savings to schools and improve service to students. Students, parents and staff have a new, online service to request an official high school transcript and send it to the college of choice with just a few clicks. With Parchment, the leader in eTranscript exchange, education credentials are requested, sent, and delivered electronically, and confidentially.
Seniors will receive information on setting up an account in Parchment and a personalized registration code. Students who wish to request a transcript prior to the fall should contact the Counseling Center, 365-8020, for their registration codes. If you have further questions about Parchment, please contact the Patrick Henry High School Counseling Center.
Parchment is the leader in education credentials technology, allowing learners, educators and employers to collect, analyze, use and share credentials in simple and secure ways. More than 3 million people and 8,300 schools and universities have used Parchment to exchange more than 10 million transcripts and other credentials. Founded in 2003, Parchment Inc. is headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, with offices in Roseville, CA, Denver, CO, Grand Rapids, MI and Washington, DC.
For the first time, the PHHS girls’ and boys’ basketball programs are merging their summer camps. The camp is all day, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, August 24, 25, and 26. Boys and girls ages 6-14 are welcome. The cost is $80 per child. Please email Coach Randy Anderson (boys’ coach) at firstname.lastname@example.org or Coach Philip Cobb (girls’ coach) at email@example.com with any questions. A brochure is attached.
